Road Trip!

We're hitting the Pacific Coast Highway today for a road trip along the coast. I'm so excited! Will we make it all the way to Santa Barbara or be lured to a stop by one of the towns or beaches along the way? Who knows! Have a great long weekend and see you Tuesday :)

I had such a nice time with my Mom! Tocco keeps saying that the house feels like a home now that she's been here, and I think that's true. Come back soon, Mama!

This weekend we'll try to rouse ourselves from this rainy sleepy week to work in the garden and paint the lower hallway (maybe not?) And on Sunday, Tocco gets to go kitesurfing for the first time all season and he couldn't be happier. While he does that, I get to watch, jog, stroll, search for shells, and take photos. Cap it all off with a drink at sunset. So relaxing. Hello weekend. 

a successful end

the rest of the holiday weekend was a huge improvement over saturday - tocco redid the stairs, i started a couple container gardens (with tomatoes, arugula, mint, cilantro, rosemary, and sage), we went to half moon bay, saw our first kitesurfers for the season (!), had a nice lunch out, checked out some greenhouses, found temporary outdoor seating in our crawl space (yes!) and made a homemade berry tart, curried carrot soup, and banana bread...
